Why Does Funsion Fail To Find Virtual Disk?

This post was originally published on this site

I am running Fusion under Catalina Version 10.15.6

Using Fusion Professional Version 11.5.6 (16696540) I built a Linux client.  I shutdown the client and restarted.  Fusion reported the following problem:

File not found: /Volumes/DATA/LINUX/Virtual Machines/kali-linux-2020.3.vmwarevm/Virtual Disk.vmdk

I inspected the package content and the “missing” file is there.  What’s going on?
