Q. What are Guided Workshops for VMworld 2020?

A. The Guided Workshops are sessions presented by VMware product experts who developed the lab you will be taking. These session are designed to create an engaging environment where you can ask questions in a private format. In this session you will take a deep dive into the technical features of a product with access to a live environment. These sessions are for paid attendees and we expect they will fill up quickly so we recommend that you register early.  For details please check your VMworld schedule builder. The Guided Workshops can be thought of as the Online version of the Expert Led Workshops available at in person events. Sessions will be supported by technical staff members using the Session chat services.

Q. What are Simulated Hands-on Labs?

A. We will have over 40 Interactive Simulation Labs that have been created to cover the most popular VMware products.  The Simulated Hands-on Labs allow VMworld attendees to gain special access to the latest technologies and explore a wide range of today’s most exciting topics. Interactive Simulation Labs will be available for FREE to all general pass holders. The labs are not live environments – they are click by click recorded environments.

Q. Will there be any live Self-Paced Labs available during the event?

A. No. Due to the size of the event (we are expecting over 50K attendees) we can only offer Guided Workshops and Odyssey Labs for paid attendees . You can still take the Labs on our public Hands-on Labs portal. Please note the newly created labs for VMworld will not be available until after the event (It takes us a while to move the content into our public clouds)

A. Odyssey is a gamification service we built on top of the Hands-on Labs platform. It allows users to compete by completing special designated tasks. This will be a formal competition at VMworld for paid attendees only.
