VMware Workstation 12 Pro Mouse Forward Back Buttons Don’t Work

This post was originally published on this site

The forward and back buttons on the mouse don’t work with VMware Workstation 12 Pro.  I’ve installed several guest systems, and the problem is the same with all.

Adding these lines to the VMX file doesn’t work and isn’t a solution for ALL guests.

usb.generic.allowHID = "TRUE"
mouse.vusb.enable = "TRUE"
mouse.vusb.useBasicMouse = "FALSE"

I’d rather not spend another week and dozens of hours fixing this problem like I did the previous issue with VMware Workstation 12 Pro and mouse problems.

The forward and back buttons worked with VMware Workstation 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, and 6.

Module ‘Snapshot’ power on failed.

I’m using Workstation Pro 12.1.0 build-3272444 on a Windows 7 host. I recently tried to unsuspend a VM and received a message from VMWare “Module ‘Snapshot’ power on failed.”. After searching on the internet I was able to determine this message is due to lck files that for whatever reason may not have been removed the last time the VM was running. I found two folders with the extension lck and deleted them and that solved the problem. The error message I received was of no help. How would anyone know what that means? You should add some explanation to that error message.
